Hello, my name is Bartolomeu Batley the III, and I am speaking on behalf of bats in Mooresville, North Carolina and the surrounding area. Sometimes I feel that my fellow bats are misunderstood, that we are thought of as pests, when we really are intriguing animals who like to glide through the night air and munch on tasty insects. Don’t get me wrong…we know that many humans appreciate us, but they may not like the way we slip through tiny crevices in their homes and roost in their attics. I have to admit, bats in residential areas can potentially cause health risks to humans and their pets. For example, one could contract rabies after contact with the salvia of an infected bat and people can contract fungal diseases if they’re in contact with spores in our guano, or droppings.
Well, we know that you may not like us roosting in the attic of your North Carolina home, but sometimes we just can’t stay away from the cool, dark spaces found in residential areas. A lovely family owned the last place I roosted, but I knew my luck had changed once Lucy, the matriarch of the family, and I had a brief encounter. She let out a loud “Eeeeek” and said she couldn’t take living with me or my family anymore ( I’m paraphrasing…she actually used a few choice words). I felt my heart drop to my stomach when I overheard Lucy and her husband discussing finding a bat control and removal company in Mooresville, North Carolina. Boy, was I ever relieved to realize that they were calling Animal Solutions Inc., as I know they specialize in the humane removal of animals (This is according to my friends… It’s batty how quickly word gets around the neighborhood). I’m a little disappointed that the small entrances to the home have been covered up to prevent an infestation by me and my bat friends and family, but I do appreciate the kind treatment we received from this reputable company. Folks, I’d appreciate if you’d use Animal Solutions Inc. the next time we drive you batty. Thanks for your time and consideration. I bid you adieu.
